It is reported that the digital discs are layered with electro-magnetic impulse rayons that when read by the DVD player's laser emmit invisible radiation that is directly transmitted via the TV and is harmful to the brain.

The only way to avoid any permanent damage is to wear sunglasses when watching DVDs.

Sony has just announced that they will give out free pairs of Ray Bans to any customer who brings/sends a receipt for their DVD player.
